"Considering that each slide collage represents a word, they can be likened to pages full of writing due to their order and being contained within borders. The artist's work titled Yesterday is composed mostly of people's memories, while the work titled Tomorrow consists of museum photographs. However, each tells stories whose beginning and end are unclear."

The Künstlerhaus Palais Thurn und Taxis in Bregenz, Austria, is hosting a group exhibition titled "Everything will be just like it is now—only a little different," featuring a diverse selection of contemporary artists from Turkey. Curated by Derya Yücel and initiated by Kolekta, the exhibition runs from December 2, 2023, to January 7, 2024, with support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Vorarlberg State.

This exhibition serves as a significant cultural bridge, aiming to foster communication and collaboration between Turkey and Austria through contemporary art. Rather than attempting to summarize the entirety of the Turkish art scene, the show presents a broad, multi-focal spectrum of current practices, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the complexities of global displacement through a diverse range of artistic media.

My notebooks are definitely the one place where I feel most free, where I get rid of worries and thoughts and move towards the unknown while
producing. Since these works of mine are not shaped around an idea unlike the others, I don’t know exactly what I was looking for or what I
found, but just like some real stories we come across in movies, I then apply some of my drawings to large canvases.

“Witness” is a contemporary art approach to the shocking and extraordinary archive of the war correspondent, photographer, and documentary producer Coşkun Aral. The exhibition brings together the audience by reinterpreting the testimony of Coşkun Aral, with the participation of 18 artists from different countries, disciplines, and generations. The exhibition also takes the viewer into the state of being a witness. Works that are contemporary art interpretations of Aral's photographs, which are historical archives, are mostly new or gain new meanings within the context of the exhibition.

Buğra Erol worked as an environmental activist many years ago and will display paintings on collected sail cloth. Large formats hung in different places in various cities to point out multiple concerns. Recently, the artist came across one of them painted in 2009 that was hanging at the Bosporus Bridge in Istanbul. He retrieved and transformed it into a series of abstract paintings.

Always in search of new ways for integrating activism into his art production, the artist defines this new series of paintings as the fading voices of a loud demand for change, as they used to be, incapable of warning authorities but still whispering the same message.
